Continuity conundrum - trying to make sense of all the different film continuities for Highlander and Godzilla.

I've been trying to understand the continuity for these two franchises:GodzillaHighlanderI don't know where to start for Godzilla [and it's especially confusing for recent movies, given that TVTropes said there are separate continuities for each film], and as for Highlander, well that ball of wax just gets more confusing [with TVTropes stating what film is considered canonical in regard to other films in the franchise - does it even have a canon?]I suppose it isn't necessary to know the continuity to enjoy them - it's just the movie geek side of me trying to learn a new franchise [especially as I may be joining a movie enthusiasts group/meetup in my area soon - not that these films are in it [that I know of].If anyone could help me understand what's what, I'd appreciate this. via /r/movies http://ift.tt/2tj9skS
