/r/television is unusually silent about the new Showtime series 'I'm Dying Up Here', what are your thoughts?

For those who don't know, it's a drama set in 1970s Los Angeles, following a group of amateur comics who are honing their craft at a comics lounge famous for producing some of Americas best comedians (based off a real place in LA). It's about each of them with their own personal struggles, trying to make it big.Speaking for myself, I really love this series. It seems to be getting rather average ratings and from what I've seen, it's being panned by critics. I'm not sure I get why, the dialogue is snappy and the characters are actually rather interesting. They all have their own wants, dreams and flaws. And aside from Al Madrigals character being a bit one note, I find myself being invested in all of their stories. via /r/television http://ift.tt/2tVlar6
