What movies had surprisingly good TV series spin-offs?

I would like to recommend the Men in Black animated series. It has a great monster of the week premise that works perfectly in this format and it is one of those rare shows (like Batman The Animated Series) that is made for kids but is quite mature and can easily be watched by anyone.
