Can you help me remember this movie?

I cant really describe it well, but often throughout the film, the narrator describes someone saying something, and then it shows the scene of them saying it.For example, the narrator would say something like "He told me that i was the stupidest man to ever live in this town" and then it would show the character saying "you are the stupidest man to ever live in this town".These arent the actual lines, but it is really similar.
